Well I am not sure if this will help, but here is some friendly advice or ways to overcome your Boy-shyness.
It's usually harder to talk to a boy you like. Start out by making conversation with someone you're already somewhat comfortable around, then when you feel confident enough, start talking to others--eventually chatting with the once-intimidating guys won't seem so impossible.
Join clubs. You will meet more people and feel confident. In the long run it will most certainly help you with approaching and starting up a conversation with a male.
Go up to a boy your age that you see. Choose one at random. Start up a conversation. if you blow it, you have made your mistakes with a boy you don't particularly care about. But if it goes great, maybe you will make a new friend. In any case, you will learn a little something about communicating with boys and this will help you to build up your confidence. Be Yourself!
Know you have NOTHING to worry about, he's a humane being the same as you. Little by little you will get there and will indeed overcome that boy-shyness.
Statistically proven, boys are much shyer than girls, so sometimes its better for a girl to be a little more confident and assertive.
Good Luck Hun!~
Excuse me, this monkey would like a refund!

I'm pretty sure I overcame that fear when I realized I sounded lame when I tried too hard. Now I just talk to them like they aren't special (lol). I stare them straight in the eyes and talk, but occasionally I look away; and I noticed I ask a lot of questions to keep the conversation going. I used to touch my earring when I get nervous, so I would always touch my earring when talking to a guy. It helped, but I broke the habit.
